paranormal activity

Paranormal is a general term that designates experiences that lie outside "the range of normal experience or  scientific explanation" or that indicates phenomena that are understood to be outside of science's current ability to explain or measure. Paranormal phenomena are distinct from certain hypothetical entities, such as dark matter and dark energy, insofar as paranormal phenomena are inconsistent with the world as already understood through empirical observation coupled with scientific methodology.

Thousands of stories relating to paranormal phenomena are found in Popular culture, folklore, and the recollections of individual subjects.. In contrast, thescientific community, as referenced in statements made by organizations such as theUnited States National Science Foundation, maintains that scientific evidence does not support a variety of beliefs that have been characterized as paranormal.

With the runaway success of  Paranormal activity in 2009, it should come as no surprise that a sequel is on its way, but the speed with which it's moving might be a bit unexpected. According to The hollywood Reporter, Paramount is aiming to have Paranormal Activity 2 (not the actual title) in theaters later this year -- on October 22, just a year after the first film made such a splash. Even more interesting about that date is the fact that it's already been staked out by Saw VII, setting up another battle between theSaw series, the longstanding king of Halloween, and the upstart Paranormal Activity series, which easily beat Saw VI last year. But wait, there's another twist: who has Paramount chosen to helm Paranormal Activity 2? None other than Saw VI director Kevin Greutert. I guess if you can't beat 'em.
